About
We run our own businesses on software we built the same way.

Sean Smith
Founder, 53Alpha. Systems builder and serial entrepreneur.
Sean founded 53Alpha to build the software his own businesses needed, then to build it for other businesses. He co-founded an Australian customer engagement technology company that listed on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2018, and co-founded ConnectID, Australia's national digital identity framework, now part of Australian Payments Plus. He is a qualified accountant, a member of CIMA, CGMA and CPA Australia, and has spent his career in technology, finance and operations.
Today he builds and runs his own companies, and designs and leads every 53Alpha project.
Four stages, written down before they are built.
- 01
Assess
We write down what the software must do, for whom, and what it replaces, before anything is designed.
- 02
Plan
The work is broken into a phased plan, starting with the smallest version your team can use.
- 03
Design
Every screen is designed, desktop and mobile, and signed off by you.
- 04
Build
Working software is built against the plan and shown to you as it grows.
We start with an MVP Sprint, so your first budget produces working software fast, then build out in phases.
Led by us, with more hands when needed.
We lead design, specification and delivery. When a build needs more hands than one studio provides, we scale it with a highly skilled, extremely experienced offshore software development partner we have worked with for over ten years. Together we have a track record of delivery on time and on budget, with skills from design through to coding and infrastructure.
AI at the core of the process, so your people can focus on people.
